The 2024 Polaris Ranger SP 570 is the smallest and least expensive Ranger in the Polaris lineup, but it’s still a good little workhorse. You won’t take it to Baja, you’re not going to tow the Space Shuttle, and she won’t win any beauty contests or drag races. But the Ranger is an industry benchmark for a reason.

The 2024 Ranger SP 570 makes 44 hp from a 567-cc single-cylinder engine. That may not seem like enough in an era when you can bring home, for example, a Ranger XD 1500 with 110 horses, but the pint-sized SP 570 makes the most of every pony. This thing can haul 500 pounds and tow up to 1500 pounds.

This may sound crazy, but the SP 570’s size is why it stands out in the Polaris line. At just 56 inches wide, the littlest Ranger can easily fit through gates and into barns, places its larger and more powerful siblings are of no use. Ever tried to drive home a nail with a sledge hammer? Bigger isn’t always better.

The 2024 SP 570 might be the best deal running. It starts at $11,499 brand-new and brings a surprising amount of capability for the money. No, you won’t get fancy aluminum wheels, a roof, or a winch. But if you’re just interested in getting a job done, the Ranger SP 570 is hard to beat.

This thing is cheap, and she feels it. That 44-horse single can be thrashy, the shifter is clunky, and the interior is half a step up from a golf cart.

Polaris offers just two choices here for 2024: Base and Premium. The latter gets you electric power steering, but on a machine this size, that’s more of a luxury than a necessity. We’d opt for the Base model and save the $2500 for aftermarket goodies like a roof, a winch, and a trip to Pigeon Forge.

There’s no shortage of no-frills work machines out there. The 2024 Kawasaki Mule, the 2024 Can-Am Defender, and the 2024 CFMOTO UFORCE 600 all offer similar capability for similar money.
